How? And how can I be so sure?
Believe it or not, I myself have been right where you are now in this moment, evaluating your life and your practice, knowing it can be – it NEEDS to be – different, but not knowing how to do it differently. Yet.
 My name is Dr. Madlena Kantscheff. I worked hard at building and running my own dental office in Neutraubling, Germany, starting in November 1991. In February 2011, I very profitably sold the business. During these 19 years, I have treated over 7,000 patients. 90 % of these patients were returning patients. I worked alone without any associates. Take a second to think about this….
Have I felt the drained and desperate way you feel right now? Yes, of course. Almost everyone I know in our profession has shared these feelings.
Did I ask myself the big question I asked you ? Yes I did.
Did I know the solution? Resoundingly, no. No, I absolutely did not know how to get myself out of the frenzied situation that was escalating out of my control.
My life was running at the speed of everything else that ran me – my practice, my money, my patients, my responsibilities - until I had to step back and look at my life from a transformed perspective. The view from a hospital bed the evening before surgery does wonders to provoke new thoughts. Not knowing if I would live through the surgery or not was motivation to consider how I'd ended up here – in this hospital bed – contemplating the potential premature end of my life.
This was the breakthrough in my life… the quietly thunderous moment that imploded my life when I turned to The Divine asking for rescue, to be kept alive through the surgery.
At this point, my children were 4 and 11 years old. They needed me, my staff members needed me, my patients needed me… everyone needed me.
Even more, I was only 37 years young and I wanted to live, to live my life…the one I always wanted to live… the happy and fulfilled life that I thought I was trading my time and energy for… and that was somehow slipping through my diligent fingers.
In that moment, I promised The Divine I am going to change my life, change it radically…. And really live.
And I did… and now I teach other dentists how to have a greater quality of life without having to discover their will to live from a hospital bed.
